Product Description


The pyrimidinergic receptor P2Y6 is a Gq protein-coupled receptor primarily activated by UDP, belonging to the purinergic P2Y receptor family. It is widely expressed in various tissues including the spleen, placenta, intestines, blood vessels, skeletal muscle, heart, and immune cells such as macrophages. Its core function is to serve as a regulatory hub for inflammation and tissue homeostasis: in immune cells, it mediates the release of inflammatory cytokines, driving inflammatory responses; in the vascular system, it regulates endothelial function and smooth muscle contraction; meanwhile, in the nervous system, it promotes microglial phagocytosis and, under specific conditions, exerts anti-apoptotic effects, protecting the heart and skeletal muscle. Consequently, the P2Y6 receptor is closely associated with various pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and neuroinflammation.

CHO-K1/Human P2Y6 Agonist Assay. CHO-K1/Human P2Y6 cells were treated with the reference agonist. The assay was run based on Revvity IP-one HTRF protocol. Non-linear regression was used to plot activity changes vs. [Compound, M], and EC50 /IC50 values were determined, using GraphPad Prism software.
