Product Description
RARα (Retinoic Acid Receptor alpha) is a nuclear receptor transcription factor belonging to the retinoic acid receptor family (RARs). It primarily binds to retinoic acid, the active metabolite of vitamin A, to regulate gene expression. This receptor is widely distributed in the body, including the liver, skin, central nervous system, embryonic tissues, and various immune cells. The main functions of RARα include regulating cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis; playing a critical role in embryonic development (especially in neural and limb formation); maintaining epithelial homeostasis; and participating in immune regulation and hematopoietic differentiation. Clinically, abnormalities in RARα are closely associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia.
Screeningbio’s HEK293/RARα Luciferase Reporter cell line contains human RARα gene and a luciferase gene under the control of retinoic acid response elements. The cell line is designed to detect the response to the stimulation of RARα ligands. Promega One-Glo kit can be used to detect the signal.
