Product Description
hPPARγ (human Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor gamma) is a ligand-activated nuclear transcription factor belonging to the PPAR subtype of the nuclear receptor superfamily. It is primarily distributed in adipose tissue, macrophages, colon, retina, and certain immune cells. The main functions of hPPARγ include regulating adipocyte differentiation and lipid storage, enhancing insulin sensitivity, modulating inflammatory responses, and playing protective roles in glucose metabolism and atherosclerosis. It is also the target of thiazolidinediones, a class of antidiabetic drugs used clinically.
A CMV driven expression pcDNA3.1 vector consisting of Gal4-DNA binding domain and hPPARγ ligand binding domain and a pcDNA3.1 vector containing Gal4 responsive promoter firefly luciferase reporter gene were co-transfected and stably expressed in HEK293 cell line. The cell line is designed to detect the response to the stimulation of hPPARγ ligands. Promega One-Glo kit can be used to detect the signal.
