Product Description

Neuropeptide S receptor 1 (NPS receptor) is a G protein-coupled receptor widely distributed within the central nervous system, primarily in brain regions associated with arousal, anxiety, stress, and reward regulation, such as the locus coeruleus, amygdala, and hypothalamus. Its main function, upon binding to its endogenous ligand neuropeptide S, is to significantly promote wakefulness, reduce anxiety-related behaviors, modulate stress responses, and participate in learning, memory processes, as well as the regulation of addiction-related behaviors. This receptor is considered the key mediator for the core effects of neuropeptide S in promoting arousal and exerting anxiolytic actions.

ScreeningBio’s HEK293T/Rat NPS β-arrestin cell line is an ideal tool for studying GPCR/β-arrestin interactions. In this system, the GPCR C-terminus is fused to a smallBiT tag, and the β2-arrestin N-terminus is fused to a largeBiT tag. Upon receptor activation, GPCR/β-arrestin interaction brings the two fragments together to reconstitute an active NanoLuc enzyme, which can be quantified using the NanoBiT substrate. This cell line is designed to evaluate a compound’s ability to activate the β-arrestin signaling pathway.
