Product Description
The succinate receptor (GPR91) is a G protein-coupled receptor specifically activated by succinate, an intermediate of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. It is widely distributed in the kidneys (glomeruli, renal tubules), immune cells (macrophages, dendritic cells), adipose tissue, liver, heart, and retina. Its core function is to serve as a sensor of metabolic stress and inflammatory responses: upon activation by succinate, it couples to Gi/o or Gq/11 proteins to mediate intracellular calcium mobilization and signaling pathway regulation. It regulates renin secretion and blood pressure in the kidneys, influences inflammatory responses and cell chemotaxis in immune cells, participates in energy metabolism regulation in adipose tissue, and is closely associated with pathological processes including liver fibrosis, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, and myocardial ischemic injury.
Screeningbio’s CHO-K1/Rat GPR91 cell line overexpress GPR91 and is designed to detect increases in intracellular Calcium flux signal in response to agonist stimulation of the receptor. Molecular Devices Calcium 6 kit can be used to detect the signal.
